1: Remember its purpose - Duration 3 mins

  • Students enter the assembly to the images on Slides 1 - 9 depicting scenes from World War 1 and World War 2 plus some modern-day images. If possible, support these slides with a classical soundtrack.
  • Once students are seated the teacher can ask students why they think remembrance is important.

2: World War 1 - Duration 2 mins

  • Teacher and / or students read WW1 poem. Students are encouraged to reflect on the tragedy of war and the importance of remembrance during this time. A two-minute silence is then observed.
