- Split the class into small groups.
- Give each group a fitness aspect to research (either PRF or SRF).
- Groups are required to research information about their aspect of fitness and produce a test to measure that aspect.
- Students should research any equipment that is required and how to perform the test fairly and accurately.
- Once they have devised a test, students should produce a recording sheet for participants to use during a practical period.
- Students should also write advice on the best methods of training to improve their aspect of fitness.
- As a final exercise, students must give an example of why they think a Royal Marine might require their allocated aspect of fitness in order to perform his job / complete training properly.

- Recognise the importance of these aspects of fitness in relation to the work and training undertaken by the Royal Marines.
